Attending Ivester Early College gave me an excellent transition from high school to college.  I am now at UGA in the HONORS COLLEGE!

First off, the staff at Ivester are an extremely helpful and cohesive group that truly get behind each of their students to help them individually. I believe this helped me as well as others make a transition into college level classes as well as prepare for future college experience.
The classes I took gave me experience with real professors and helped me understand their role and how a college classroom works.
The classes also put me in a situation where I was meeting new people and had to learn to work with them.
The early college experience gives you ownership of your own education and a better sense of what you're doing in school and how it will transfer to your life in the real world.
For me, someone who was ready to move on from only high school classes, it allowed me to see how I could directly affect my future through schooling right now. It gave me a larger view of my education as a whole, the purpose behind it and helped me clarify my goals and pathways beyond high school.  How well you make it in the real world depends on more than just good grades. Ivester Early College offers all of its students a chance to explore their own individual and meaningful pathways that can one day lead them beyond the classroom and into the real world.

Dual enrollment has allowed me to have a new and bigger outlook on the amount of possibilities in the medical field.  The past two years I’ve been able to participate in the HIMT program and I wouldn’t trade it for anything else.  I’ve been able to take my classroom experiences and directly apply them into my current mentorship where I help work with people of all ages on a daily basis.  It has enabled me to get a feel for a college experience in both a safe, yet challenging environment.  I would highly recommend giving dual enrollment a shot!

Thomas - Through dual enrolling, I have received college credits that I can use when I go to Young Harris College in the fall. Most importantly, while dual enrolling at Ivester Early College, I learned of a new passion which is graphic design.  I thoroughly enjoyed my time spent in these classes and now want to continue my secondary education in design at Young Harris College. I have been awarded a scholarship from Young Harris College based on my portfolio from my Ivester Early College Graphic Design classes.

LINA MATEO:  Ogelthorpe University - Full Scholarship Class of 2024

I'm finishing up my first semester at Oglethorpe University.  It is true what everyone said about the transition from Ivester Early College to university. It has been much easier than that of my peers. I have heard many of my peers complaining about how hard the transition was for them - difficult- and nothing like high school. I, on the other hand, felt safe and not stressed about the transition.  I am so thankful that I had the experience at Ivester Early College. If not, I would be in my peers' shoes right now!

I got a real feeling for what college is going to be like and so much more from Ivester Early College than just classes!  We built confidence!  It was a great experience!

Carly - Lanier Tech/EHHS - Ivester Early College was a great choice for me because it helped me to realize the difference between high school and college level work.  As a scholar/athlete I also learned how to manage the load while playing year round basketball.  I am headed to Georgia State in the fall to play basketball, and I already have many of my core academic classes knocked out!
