UNG*:                 For admissions, students must have an unweighted core academic HS GPA of 3.25
Due to the COVID-19 pandemic,  the University System of Georgia made the decision to allow USG institutions to grant admission to Dual Enrollment students based on alternative admissions standards, including the use of the PSAT to determine admissibility.  Based on this new guidance, UNG has adopted the following admission requirements for Dual Enrollment students seeking admission for summer or fall 2020:
  • GPA remains at 3.25 as calculated on completed RHSC.
  • If SAT or ACT scores are available, utilize scores as usual to determine admissibility.
PSAT test scores for admissibility = 490 EBRW, 440 Math,  960 Combined
Accuplacer test scores for admissibility = 243 Reading, 4 Writeplacer, 266 Math (Quantitative Reasoning, Algebra, and Statistics test -QRAS).   UNG is currently using a virtual Accuplacer test.  NOTE: All UNG dual enrollment students accepted by PSAT or Accuplacer during the Covid exceptions must take and requirements with an SAT or ACT when they wish to move from DE status to regular freshman admissions status.  Call UNG testing services to schedule the Accuplacer.

Brenau*:                                For admissions, students must have a HS GPA of 3.00
During Covid, testing requirements are suspended.

For 2021:  Students may gain admissions to Brenau with a HS GPA of 3.00 or greater.

*These scores and requirements are subject to change by the institution.

Note: Students completing any core academic curriculum course will receive credit for that course when transferring to another University System of Georgia Institution  (See Articulation Document).

Out of state or private colleges most often take academic credits, but students need to contact them directly to verify - as state to state articulation agreements vary.

REMINDER:  The college course credit becomes part of the student's high school and college transcript.
5.0 scale for core academic classes     4.5 Honors scale for all others

NOTE:  The Hall County School District nor the Howard E. Ivester Early College representatives are liable for information regarding college credit acceptances to all post-secondary institutions.
