 MISSION:  
​Hall County’s Howard E. Ivester Early College provides an innovative high school program of choice that creates unique Dual Enrollment (DE) access to college-level academic courses and diverse career pathways for all academically ready students while giving academic support for success. 

HOW? 
​Howard E. Ivester Early College provides ALL district qualified learners with academic support as needed that includes tutoring, career guidance, and personalized planning to meet college and career goals.  We remember to pay particular attention to the unique needs of our first generation and diverse population students.

Scholars in the program have the opportunity to gain both high school and college credit for their classes through college certificate, diploma, and degree programs taught by caring university professors. This program supports the scholars as they transition from high school to college through a DE partnership with Brenau University, Lanier Technical College, the University of North Georgia and the University of Georgia's College of Agriculture and Environmental Design (UGA's CAES).

Yearly, we look to support families by:

6.  To provide application support for Dual Enrollment-seeking students and seniors transitioning to college
7.  To provide certificate classes that pertain to workforce needs specific to our county

 The Howard E. Ivester Early College is an innovative, Dual Enrollment campus for academically ready high school students to earn a high school diploma while also earning college credits. Students may take college-level academic classes: American Lit; Biology; Chemistry, Economics; English 1101 and English 1102; Human A/P; Math 1111 and Math 1113; Spanish; Sociology; Speech 1101; Political Science 1101 (Gov); Psychology 1101; US History; students may also earn technical college certificates in Design and Media Production; Firefighter; and Nurse Aide (CNA). The Hall County School District partners with Brenau University (BU), Lanier Technical College (LTC), the University of North Georgia (UNG) and the University of Georgia's College of Agriculture and Environmental Design (*UGA's CAES) to provide unique access to Georgia’s Dual Enrollment program on our Howard E. Ivester Early College Dual Enrollment campus.
Students completing any core academic curriculum course will receive full credit for that course when transferring to another University System of Georgia Institution (See Articulation Document). The credit also becomes part of the student’s high school transcript: 5.0 scale for core academic classes and 4.5 honors scale for certificate and non-core classes.
Unique to our IEC campus for Brenau, Lanier Tech and UNG classes:

• Calendar Aligns with Hall Co School Schedule,
• All students have access to in person academic support that includes tutoring, career guidance, and personalized planning to meet college and career goals.
• Students with Like Minded Peers in classes,
• Laptops and Transportation from/to high schools provided free for use,
• Tuition, books and mandatory fees (except for lab) covered by DE,
• College Professors provide the same rigorous classes!
• Students may take Brenau, LTC, UNG and UGA-CAES courses or a combination of classes if desired, as qualified and as available.

 Students are still members of their Hall County high school and may combine to take classes at their high school campus - including AP or IB, main college campus or participate in Work-Based Learning / Honors Mentorship.

*UGA's College classes are uniquely designed for on their campus.

Ivester Early College representatives are liable for information regarding college credit acceptances to all post-secondary institutions. Each college/university major prescribes a specific program of coursework that DE courses may or may not meet. It is the responsibility of the scholar to check specific college entrance requirements and transfer-ability of coursework.
